POINTS & PUSHUPS

To make sure that every brother values his time as a participant of the Choose Greatness Mentoring Program, every guy is rewarded and evaluated on their ability to speak, act and operate in line with the standards and principles that create greatness. This policy holds each member accountable to a set of rewards and consequences for their positive and negative behavior. It’ll also help them to develop critical thinking skills and judge their actions and the results that come from them.

This Points and Pushups Policy is our Accountability System of Consequence and Reward for every guy that participates in the CENTRY League and The Choose Greatness Program. This policy allows guys to earn Points and Rewards for their positive behavior, while allowing them to earn Negative Points and Perform Pushups as a result of their negative behavior. We understand that a life of Greatness by Serving, Honoring and Protecting others is NOT for everyone.

This Policy is based on accountability, not perfection. We don’t expect any guy to be perfect, because no one is except God. However, as an active participant within the CG Program, every member, brother and mentor will be held accountable to living, acting and speaking in line with the standards of the CENTRY Brand and Brotherhood to Serve, Honor and Protect. So, our Points and Pushups Policy helps us find those guys who want to join us and helps us to remove those guys that don’t.

Please Note: Any guy physically unable or unwilling to abide by this “Points & Pushup Policy” may not be able to participate in the CG Program since it’s what we use to reward and evaluate the guys who truly want to be a part of the program and remove those that do not.

GREEN Points: 12 Points = Review/Reward

Green Points are earned as a way to reward Little Brothers for positive growth, participation and interaction at home, in school and within the CG Program. Each Unit Member will receive a reward after earning a total of 12 Green Points.

Green points are earned when exceptional positive behavior is performed by a Little Brother that expresses the CG Unit Code and standards of greatness.

Once a LB received a Total of 12 GREEN Points, his presence within the program will be reviewed and he will most likely be given more responsibility and rewards for his Green Point status.

The following are examples of how GREEN Points can be earned. However, GREEN Points are not limited only to the examples listed below.

Double GREEN Points:

  • 95% or Above on a Test or Assignment
  • Helping a Fellow Student, Sibling or Unit Member being Bullied
  • Helping a Female Classmate, Stranger or Someone in Need
  • Repairing Damaged Property at Home, School or in Public
  • Any Positive Behavior determined by Parent, Teacher or Mentor

Single GREEN Points:

  • Showing Exceptional Assistance and Respect for Parents, Teachers, Leaders, Mentors and Strangers
  • Breaking up a Fight or Helping Create Peace between Others
  • Encouraging a Fellow Student, Sibling or Unit Member
  • Any exceptional behavior of Service, Honor or Protection determined by Parent or Teacher

Half GREEN Points:

  • Completing Unit Instructions, Assignments, Projects, CG Workbook Sections or Tasks
  • Anything determined by Parent or Teacher
  • Noticeable Focus, Attention and Excellent Behavior in Class, School or at Home

GREEN Point Reversals:

Green Points may be reversed by the person(s) who initiated the point any time after the point was earned.

For example, if a brother earned a GREEN point from his teacher because of his assistance in the classroom, but in the same day hits a classmate, that same teacher can request that GREEN Point to be reversed and a RED Point earned.

This keeps Little Brothers from earning Green Points that don’t truly express their heart to Serve, Honor and Respect others.

  • School Principal, Teachers and Admin rewards: special treats, gifts or privileges determined by admin
  • Teacher Rewards: Extra Credit, Extra Responsibilities, Extra Gifts

RED Points: 7 Points = Removal/Replacement

RED Points are a way to make certain that every guy truly wants to be a part of the CG Mentoring Program. Once a guy has received a total of 7 Red Points, his behavior will be reviewed and his position within his current CG Unit will most likely be offered to another guy.

Red points are earned when negative behavior is performed that a Little Brother understands is against the CG Unit Code and standards of greatness. Each point earned also includes a specific Set of Pushups.

The following are examples of how RED Points are earned; however, RED Points are not limited only to the examples listed below.

Double RED Points & Pushups:

Each item includes a set of 20 Pushups

  • Bullying a Fellow Student, Sibling or Unit Member
  • Hitting a Female
  • Destruction of Property at Home, School or in Public

  • Purposely Breaking the Law
  • 3 Repeated RED Point Instances/Occursnces

Single RED Points Acts & Pushups:

Each item includes a set of 20 Pushups

  • Disrespect of Parents, Teachers and Leaders
  • Initiating Fights
  • Defiance to Parents, Teachers or Leaders
  • Teasing Fellow Student, Sibling or Unit Member
  • Excessive Reminders or Corrections from Parents, Teachers, School Staff or Mentors
  • Anything Additional Negative Behavior Determined by Parent, Teacher or Mentor

Half RED Points & Half Pushups:

Each item includes a set of 20 Pushups

  • Littering in Public or Classroom
  • Aggressive Playing that can Cause Harm
  • Foul Language during Sessions or on School Grounds
  • Incomplete Unit Instructions, Assignments, Projects, Workbook Sections
  • Excessive playing or lack of focus in class, school or home
  • Anything determined by Parent, Teacher or Mentor

RED Point Reversals:

Red Points may be reversed by the person(s) who initiated the point and can only be requested between the 7th to the 14th Day after the point was earned.

For example, if a brother earned a RED point from his teacher because of lack of respect in the classroom, that same teacher must request the point to be reversed but can only do so between the 7th and 14th Day After the point was earned. This time gives the person enough time to see improvement in the brother’s behavior and allows them the opportunity to properly evaluate if the point should actually be reversed or maintained.

RED Point Consequence Examples:

Pushups in Sets of 20:

For every point earned, a Little Brother is required to perform a set of at least 20 Full Pushups

School/Admin Consequences:

  • School Principal, Teachers and Admin consequences may include: Extra Homework, Ungiven Treats, Missed Recess, Extra Writing Assignments and Other Activities enforced by School Admin
  • Missed Gym Breaks: Removal from Use of Gym, Playroom and Lunchroom w/Unit Members and selected friends
